The federal law known as the No Child Left Behind Act requires the state to identify schools that need to improve. It also provides for free tutoring for eligible students at those schools.

Based on standardized test scores, your child’s school may be on the list of schools in need of improvement, so your child may be eligible for free tutoring.

We encourage you to take advantage of this great opportunity to improve your child’s math or reading skills. Your local school district has put together a list of tutoring service providers that meet their standards. As the parent or guardian of an eligible child, you can choose any provider on that list.
